History

Our company was founded in 1972 as Glenn Brothers Land Surveying Company, becoming Glenn Associates Land Surveying Company in 1980, a partnership between Michael R. Mills, Mark E. Mills, and William T. Glenn, III. With the retirement of Mr. Glenn in March 2000, the remaining partners incorporated the current entity, Glenn Associates Surveying, Inc.

Location

Glenn Associates Surveying, Inc. is located approximately 25 miles north of Columbia, SC, in the community of Jenkinsville. This Fairfield County location in the center of the state, with ready access to Interstate Highways 26, 77, and 20, allows convenient travel to job locations statewide.


Equipment

Field

Field surveys are performed with the latest advanced technology including robotic and conventional Total Stations as well as Static and RTK GPS equipment. GPS equipment utilizes GPS/GLONASS technology to maximize accuracy and efficiency.

Support equipment

  • Four-wheel drive vehicles
  • All Terrain Vehicles (ATVs)
  • Latest communication and cell phone technology used in conjunction with various field tools to complete projects efficiently.

Office

Drafting is completed using the latest version of AUTODESK LAND DESKTOP.

GIS mapping is completed using the latest version of ESRI.

Support equipment

  • All personnel have individual computer workstations connected through a high-speed network with internet access
  • Large format continuous feed Hewlett-Packard color plotters for CAD output and GIS mapping

Data Resources

All information is stored in digital form on a local hard drive for immediate access and use.

  • Digital USGS quad maps for South Carolina, North Carolina and Georgia
  • 1999-2000 year flight of South Carolina Department of Natural Resources (DNR) infrared photography
  • Aerial Photography continuously updated as newer photography becomes available
  • Access to digital FEMA Flood Maps
